George III sterling silver sugar tongs, with an Old English & thread pattern stems, and an initial engraving to the bow L.
Only simplified hallmarks, which are clear and consist of the lion passant mark for sterling silver, makers mark W S for William Sumner I, and the George III duty mark. No city mark or date letter, which was intentionally absent by the assay office on low weight silver during this period, but likely assayed in London, circa 1790.
They measure 128mm long, by 17mm wide at the bow, with 16mm wide spoon bowls, and has a silver weight of 29.4g.
